Donna J Bauer
Donna J. Bauer, age 91 of Mondovi, formerly of Arkansaw, died Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at the Plum City Care Center in Plum City with her family by her side.
Donna was born on October 27, 1933 in Arkansaw. She was the daughter of Holt and Blanche (Abel) Doughty. Donna grew up on a farm in Arkansaw and graduated from Arkansaw High School in 1951. After high school, Donna worked in the Pepin County Courthouse until her marriage. Donna married Edwin W. Bauer on May 3, 1955 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church-Lima in Durand. After marriage they lived, farmed and raised their family in Arkansaw. When her daughters were old enough to go to school, Donna worked as a business office administrator at the St. Benedict Hospital and later with Douglas J Jacot Chiropractor office in Durand. In retirement, Donna and Edwin moved to Mondovi where they remained the rest of their lives.
Donna enjoyed reading and making greeting cards. She loved spending time with family and friends.
Donna is survived by her daughters; Beth (Bill) Levers of Prairie du Sac and Amy (Bob) Hocking of Stoughton, 2 grandchildren; Ben of Bozeman, MT and Darin (Jessica) of Edgerton, two great grandchildren; Madison and Caden, one sister; Grace (Ted) Chura of Duluth, MN, two sisters-in-law; Carole Doughty of Plum City and Sally Doughty of Prescott nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Edwin Bauer and siblings; Donald and Bruce Doughty, Connie Brantner and Wanita Anderson.
A Celebration of Life will be held 4:00PM-7:00PM Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand. The Celebration will continue at the Orton Room at the Corral Bar & Grill from 7:00PM-9:00PM.
Memorials may be made in Donna’s name to the Durand Public Library.
